Young professional singer based in the North West of England

21 year old singer Matthew Roughley is a classically trained tenor who provides a young and dynamic take on the classic songs from an era of music that nobody can help but love and enjoy. Whether your event is a wedding, corporate event or a private function, Matthew is sure to make the night one to remember.

Although relatively young, Matthew is rich with experience after a number of years as the lead vocalist of the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra, with which he has toured Northern Spain and recorded a successful disc with tracks being played on national radio stations such as BBC Radio 2.

Through Matthew’s classical training he has been able to follow a passion for classical singing in the forms of opera and choral singing. Matthew has been a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain’s main choir since 2007 with which he has toured the west coast of America, working with some of the world’s leading experts in this genre such as Eric Whitacre and Karl Jenkins. On top of these opportunities Matthew has now performed in two BBC proms, most recently with renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel.
